　　The Old Man's Long-cherished(长久珍惜的) Wish

　　An elderly(上年纪的) man on the beach found a magic lamp(灯). He picked it up and a genie appeared. "Because you have freed me," the genie said, "I will grant you a wish."

　　The man thought for a moment and then responded(回答): "My brother and I had a fight 30 years ago and he hasn't spoken to me since. I wish that he'll finally forgive(原谅) me.”

　　There was a thunderclap(雷声), and the genie declared(宣告): "Your wish has been granted, you know." The genie continued: "Most men would have asked for wealth or fame.,but you only wanted the love of your brother. Is it because you are old and dying?"

　　"No!" The man cried, "But my brother is and he's worth about 60 million dollars."

中等水平的学员可以选择雅思基础班课程及类似起点的班。这类班起点在高中和大专水平，属于中期提高课程，适合范围广，听、说、读、写各门课时安排均衡，是中等水平学员参加学习的最佳课程。在参加上述课程学习的同时，同样可以选择单项雅思口语班进行口语的集中训练，同时可以试着写一些短文、感想等文章，逐渐摆脱写作和口语的困扰。

英语水平相对薄弱的学员可以选择类似脱产班课程或预科班课程。这类课程起点在初中、高中水平，属于长期基础课程，在充裕的学习时间中，逐渐提高英语水平和雅思水平，在大量的课程学习和实践中，逐步锻炼听、说、读、写各项内容，逐渐过渡到雅思专业知识的学习，边学习、边练习，最终达到与强化班相同的雅思学习效果。
