雅思阅读不可不知的熟词僻义

在做题的过程中，大家不知道有没有遇到过类似这样的情景，“这个单词我明明认真背诵过，但是放在文中这个句子里进行理解，却怎么解释不通呢?”这是因为我们在背诵单词时，会习惯于经验性地根据单词最常见的意思来进行记忆，当然这种方式是值得肯定的，在大多数的情况下，单词是以最常见的意思来呈现的。

不过有时候雅思阅读的文本中，为了区分不同语言水平的考生，会提高一下难度，考察某些单词的不常见的意思或用法，这就是我们所说的“熟词僻义”。

1.Account

n. 账户，账目

n. a written or spoken description that says what happens in an event or process

在主流题型配对题中常考词eg: anaccountof a national policy initiative

2.Objective

adj. 客观的，真实的

n. something that you are trying hard to achieve

3.Considerable

adj. 可考虑的，值得考虑的

adj.fairly large,especially large enough to have an effect or be important相当大的，可观的

4.Property

n. the thing or things that someone owns 所有物;资产，财产

n. a quality or power that a substance,plant etc has

5.Sound

n. 声音，音量 v. 听起来

adj. sensible and likely to produce the right results

6.Plant

n. a living thing that has leaves or roots and grows in earth,especially one that is smaller than a tree 植物
