奥塔哥大学预科从 1997 年起，由澳大利亚悉尼的新南威尔士大学提供。得到新西兰所有大学的认可，并获得澳大利亚，英国，加拿大和美国的大部分大学认可。课程分为 : 科学类，商业，艺术类和医学类。

商学院

会计及金融、经济学、创业学、 MBA 课程、信息科学、健康信息学、国际商务、管理学、市场营销学、旅游。

住宿 :

居住方面，奥塔哥大学本身有学生宿舍，另外这大学城也有的公寓提供学生分租，价钱也较便宜，各种商店和超市等也都非常集中，生活机能相当健全，是个麻雀虽小却五脏俱全的城市。由于学生在此生活浪漫，在此地读书很容易培养文艺气质，另外近郊的几个海边也是名闻全新的，甚至连冰淇淋都是全新西兰第一名，所以就大学生活品味而言，本校连续数年都膺选全国高中生最渴望就读之大学，可见其魅力之一斑了。

几乎所有奥塔哥大学的学生都住在只需步行即可到达大学校园和诸如教室，图书馆和计算机资料等主要设施。大多是本课学生住在提供膳食的 12 栋学生宿舍楼内，或者住在自己做饭的陶罗一年级留学生宿舍。学习一年后，学生搬到合租公寓内。达尼丁有各种出租住房。
