2017 年 12 月 18 日，英国移民部长布兰登·刘易斯宣布，继牛津大学、剑桥大学、帝国理工学院和巴斯大学之后，又新增 23 所大学加入试点，针对在英攻读研究生学位的国际留学生结束学业后可延长 6 个月的签证时间，以便可以在英国找工作。

移民部长布兰登·刘易斯：

Immigration Minister Branon Lewis sai:

“对于国际留学生来说，英国是全球第二受欢迎的留学目的地，自 2010 年以来，来英深造的学生数量增长了 24%。”

The UK continues to be the 2n most popular estination for international stuents an the number coming to stuy at our universities has increase by 24% since 2010.

“这一签证新政意味着英国不会针对来英留学的学生数量做出限制，反而是非常欢迎真正意义上的留学生来英深造。”

This is a clear inication that genuine stuents are welcome an there is no limit on the number who can come to stuy in the UK.

据内政部最新数据统计，相较于去年，申请签证的学生人数上涨了 8%，其中申请罗素集团大学的学生数量上涨了 9%。

The most recent Home Office statistics show that the number of stuents applying for visas increase by 8% over the past year,an there has been a 9% increase in the number of stuents applying to Russell Group universities.

另外，这 23 所大学将在²⁰¹⁸⁄₁₉入学季启用（新政策）。他们被选中是因其拒签率一直都是所在地区或区域中最低的。

The 23 aitional universities will be able to apply the pilot to their²⁰¹⁸⁄₁₉intake. The universities were selecte as their visa refusal rates are consistently the lowest in their area or region.

除了来自英格兰的院校以外，新增 23 所试点院校中还包括 2 所来自苏格兰的大学，2 所来自威尔士的大学以及 1 所来自北爱尔兰的大学，

The aitional 23 universities to benefit from the pilot inclue 2 in Scotlan,2 in Wales an 1 in Northern Irelan as well as universities from across Englan.
